How to play Tic-Tac-Toe
You play as X and always move first. Click any empty square to place your mark, then the computer responds as O. Get three of your marks in a row — horizontally, vertically, or diagonally — before the computer does, or the board fills up for a draw.
Choosing a difficulty
On Easy, the computer occasionally plays a weaker move, giving you real chances to win. On Hard, the computer calculates every possible outcome and plays a perfect game — against perfect play from both sides, Tic-Tac-Toe always ends in a draw, so Hard mode is about seeing if you can hold your own rather than expecting to win every round.
A quick strategy tip
Taking the center square first gives you the most possible winning lines, and taking a corner is the next best opening move. Watch for moments where the computer could complete two different lines at once — blocking both is impossible, so try to spot and prevent that setup before it happens.
